Honours Biology
The Honours BSc program in Biology consists of a minimum of 20 full-credit courses (or
equivalent).

    The theme of the program emphasizes comparative aspects of biology
including structure, function and taxonomy.

 1.

       With departmental approval a student in the General program may transfer to the
      Honours program after fulfilling all the Honours requirements up to the time of transfer.
      Students (except those who have been permitted to proceed in Honours Biology on probation)
      who must transfer out of the Honours program because of insufficient GPA may re-enter the
      program provided that by the end of the academic year following transfer to the General
      program, they have
        (a)
       attained an accumulated GPA in Biology of at least 7.00;

The combination Honours Biology and Chemistry program consists of a minimum of 20
full-credit courses (or equivalent), with at least 6 senior credit courses in each of Biology and
Chemistry, usually taken over a four-year period. Normally 5 credits must be completed in each
12-month period.

courses (or equivalent) including at least 6.5 senior credits in Biology and at least 6.5 senior
credits in Mathematics. The program shall include:

       at least two Mathematics credits at the 300 or 400 level including at least one at 
      the 400 level,
 2.
       at least one Biology credit at the 400 level other than BI490* and BI491,
 3.
       at least one credit in each of Botany and Zoology, as determined by the Department
      of Biology.
