CLASSIFICATION OF STUDENTS
A regular student is one who has been admitted to the University
without condition and is
proceeding toward a degree.

    A student on academic probation is one who has been
permitted to
proceed conditionally in a program (see page xxx for further
details).

    An adult student is one who does not hold the
Ontario Secondary School
Diploma or the equivalent, and has been admitted to the
University conditionally (see page xxx
for further details).

    An unclassified student or non-degree student is one
who is registered
in one or more degree course(s), but is not proceeding toward a
degree.

    An audit student is one who has been admitted to the
University and
attends a course without credit toward a degree or program, and
who is not entered or registered
on the official University records or lists for the purpose of
academic or degree credit. Such a
student will not be allowed to write final examinations and will
not receive a course grade. The
classroom and laboratory privileges and responsibilities of such
a student will be at the discretion
of the department and the instructor.

    A visitor is one who has not been admitted to the
University and who
attends a course without credit.

    A junior student is one who has obtained fewer than
five credits.

    A senior student is one who has obtained five or
more credits.

    A full-time student is anyone registered in four or
more half-credit courses
(or equivalent) in a term.

    A part-time student is anyone registered in less
than four half-credit
courses (or equivalent) in a term.

    A senior citizen is any person 60 years of age or
older before the first day
of classes of a term. Seniors are exempt from tuition fees for
all courses, but are required to pay
other fees where applicable.
