Wilfrid Laurier University Students' Union The Students' Union, (WLUSU), a non-profit corporation, provides student government through elected student representatives. Its Board of Directors is responsible for activities funded by a $2 million budget. In co-operation with the full-time staff the executive, or Operations Management Board, manage the daily activities of the corporation. The Students' Union provides the students with many services, including Resumes Plus, Foot Patrol, HELPLINE, the Centre Spot, and the Corner Pocket. The Students' Union also manages the campus bars: Wilf's and the Turret. Wilfrid Laurier Student Publications Student Publications is an autonomous corporation with a president and a board of directors that are elected from the student body. Student Publications publishes the Cord, a weekly tabloid size newspaper. The Cord operates with a full time Editor-in-Chief along with a large base of student volunteers. Student Publications also publishes the Keystone - a full colour hard cover yearbook, a day planner (the WLU'er), and a student telephone directory (the Cord Guide to Laurier). The above mentioned publications are available free of charge (except the Keystone) to all full time undergraduate students. Student Publications offers experience in desktop publishing, photography, advertising sales and design, and journalism. Student Union Building The Student Union Building is operated by the students under an agreement with the University and has a full-time staff year round. In addition, there are Student Government Offices, the Office of the Dean of Students, meeting rooms, a Television lounge, the Corner Pocket (games room), Resumes Plus (typing service), as well as the Turret, a multi-purpose ballroom with bar facilities, Wilf's, the campus pub and the Niobe Lounge. The building is intended to provide for the social and recreational needs of all students. On the second floor, the Centre Spot (formerly called the Info Centre) is a variety store with fax services, postage, dry cleaning, lost and found, ride board, ticket booth, Insta bank machines.
