BU155 Data Processing and Information Systems 0.5 The lecture component is intended to assist students in becoming knowledgeable users of Information Technology. It centres on the study of information systems: the concepts and principles, how they are applied in supporting business operations and decision-making, and the important issues involved in effectively using and managing information technology in organizations. The labs provide applied skills training in the use of current PC productivity software. These may include operating system, word processing, grammar checking, spreadsheet, database management and graphics packages. Exclusion: BU115, CP102, CS100 (University of Waterloo).
