EN333 Current Critical Theories and Practices 1.0 An examination of a variable selection of topics, theories, and issues of interest among literary critics. It will explore the principles and methods of a representative range of important critics and movements influencing the practice of criticism and literary study. Possible topics include formalism, New Criticism, structuralism, Marxism, feminism, historicism, reception aesthetics, hermeneutics, deconstruction, archetypalism, biographical, psychological criticism, etc., with application to literary texts. Prerequisite: Registration in the Third or Fourth Year of any degree program.
