from the end of the Middle Ages to 1714. This course will pay
particular attention to the Tudor foundation of the sovereign
nation state, the English Reformation, the rise of a capitalist
economy, the Puritan Revolution of the 17th century, and the
establishment of Parliamentary supremacy. (E)
