Pre-Modern

The course traces the interaction of Christianity and Western
culture   literature, art, music, mores   from the earliest
beginnings to the martyrdoms and their relations to the monastic
movement, the social and political upheavals of the early Middle
Ages, the flowering of medieval civilization, its ``decline,''
and the relations of Christianity to Judaism and Islam.
