Wilfrid Laurier University Alumni Association Founded in 1927, the WLU Alumni Association has over 35,000 members world-wide. The Mission Statement of the Alumni Association reads, The WLU Alumni Association seeks to foster alumni interaction with the students, the University, and the community; to promote active alumni participation in the affairs of the University; to assist in securing the University as an independent institution and to enhance the University's profile as a small institution committed to academic excellence. A 26-member, elected Board of Directors governs the Association. Alumni Association representatives also sit on WLU's Senate and Board of Governors. The Association's executive members include the President, Past President, First and Second Vice-Presidents, Secretary, and Treasurer. The committee chairpersons supervise the activities of the Association's seven committees: Homecoming, Chapters, University Relations, Awards, Volunteer Recruitment, Fundraising and Alumni Services. The Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs provides the link between the Alumni Association and the University. The Office co-ordinates alumni activities and serves as a central communications and resource centre for all alumni. The Office maintains alumni records, processes members, organizes reunions, supports the activities of the Alumni Board, co-ordinates alumni fund-raising events and contributes to the editorial content of the University magazine Laurier Campus which is free to alumni.
