DIPLOMA PROGRAMS There are two diploma programs offered in the School of Business and Economics: the Diploma in Business Administration, and the Diploma in Accounting. A student may enrol in and qualify to receive a diploma in only one of the programs. Admission requirements and specific academic regulations for each of the diplomas are outlined below. Note that the last grade received on any course attempt will be used to calculate the Grade Point Average (GPA) and that no course may be attempted more than twice. This rule applies to courses taken at this and other institutions. Application for admission should be sent to the Office of the Registrar: Admissions. Diploma in Business Administration Program The Diploma in Business Administration has been designed to meet the needs of people with work experience in business or government who wish to enhance their skills in the functional areas of administration. The courses in the program have been selected to give broad coverage of the functional areas of management. The program is made up of six credits (four required and two elective). It is a part-time program only. Courses are offered in the evenings. See the chart below for requirements. Diploma in Accounting Program The Diploma in Accounting has been designed to meet the needs of people planning for a career in accounting. The program is offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis. Full-time students must take Term Two in the fall and Term Three in the winter. Program requirements are given on the chart on page 90.
