BU383 Financial Management I 0.5 The role of the financial officer as a key member of management is the central thrust of this course. The course covers securities valuation, capital market theory, working capital management, financial statements analysis and projection techniques. The financial questions investigated concern the management and analysis of cash, accounts receivable, inventory and short intermediate term liabilities as well as analysis of profitability and risk. The method of instruction involves both lectures and cases. Prerequisite: BU247 and one of the following three courses: BU205, BU275 or EC285. BU205, BU275 or EC285 may be taken as a co-requisite if permission is obtained from the Department.
