 The Office of Development is responsible for
      fundraising. Its mission includes ensuring maximum private gift
      support for the University from alumni, faculty, staff, students,
      corporations, foundations, as well as friends of the institution.

    The responsibilities of the Office of Development
include becoming familiar with the local community and other
fundraising campaigns; providing guidance and advice on
recruitment and training of volunteer leadership; overseeing
research on potential individuals, corporations, foundations and
other donors and developing solicitation strategies; retaining
constant control of fundraising budgets, ensuring that treasury
and gift recording procedures are properly administered and are
in accordance with Revenue Canada guidelines; and working with
the University to develop donor recognition policies.

    Current fundraising activity includes the Capital
Campaign, Annual Fund, and a limited Planned Giving program. For
