Program Description Information Program requirements will be stated in terms of credits.'' The credit'' is the standard of the credit weight system. A credit can be obtained in a number of ways: by successfully completing a full-credit course, two half-credit courses or four quarter- credit courses. Other combinations adding up to a credit'' are, of course, also possible. In the program descriptions full-credit courses are identified by the addition ofan asterisk * after the course number. Half-credit courses do not have a symbol added to the course number. Quarter-credit courses are denoted by the addition of a degree symbol . Honours program requirements usually stipulate courses that must be taken in each successive year of the program. These program requirements should be followed asclosely as possible, but since not every course is offered every year, variations may from time to time be approved by the departments. Students are urged to consult the course description section of this Calendar for additional information on the required courses and should, in particular, note prerequisites.
