HONOURS MUSIC (BA) IN COMBINATION WITH ANOTHER HONOURS PROGRAM The combined Honours BA Music program consists of 20 full-credit courses (or equivalent). Not more than six of these may be at the 100 level. A minimum of eight credits is required in Music of which six must be at the senior level. The required Music courses (six and a half credits) include: Theory: MU161, MU162, MU266, MU268 Musical skills: MU186 , MU187 , MU286 , MU287 Music History: MU171, MU270, MU271, and one elective from the MU370 series Twentieth-century: MU375 or MU461 or MU462 In Fourth Year, MU478*, which shall include a major paper and a comprehensive examination in music history or theory. The elective Music courses (one and a half credits) shall be taken in music history and/or theory and/or (with permission of the Dean of Music) practical study. Admission to the program requires meeting the admission requirements of the Faculty of Arts and Science and successful completion of an audition and a theory placement test.
