A study of the Eastern Mediterranean area from the Persian Period
(539 B.C.) to the Arab Conquest (A.D. 640). Special attention will be 
given to the development of Greek towns and Roman cities and to sites in 
Israel and Jordan associated with the beginnings of Christianity and the 
early development of Judaism. (Cross-listed as RE310*.)
