An examination of Latin literature from its beginnings to the end
of the Roman West. A study of the simple beginnings will be followed by an
investigation of the often ribald comedy, the pleadings of lawyers, 
philosophy, personal poetry, propaganda, and historical
writing. The impact Latin literature has had on the modern world
will also be emphasized.
