This course provides an introduction to the economic aspects of
energy, emphasizing petroleum in the North American economy. The course 
begins with a discussion of criteria for energy resource allocation. 
Petroleum production, demand, pricing, and conservation
are then analyzed. Other issues such as the international
petroleum market and new energy sources may also be examined. The 
concluding section of the course deals with
government policies in the energy area.   
Prerequisite: EC120 (or EC101), EC140 (or EC102).
Exclusion: EC348 or EC398.
