A survey of modern American development beginning with the
post-Civil War industrial revolution and ending with a consideration of 
contemporary problems. The course will emphasize economic, social and 
political issues with special attention paid to the growth
of entrepreneurial capitalism, American expansionism, and the
status of important minority groups.
