An examination of poverty as a social institution, social ideology
and experienced reality. The course focuses on poverty as a social 
problem, including political and definitional debates and policy attempts 
at a response, both in the context of Canadian society and through 
consideration of selected cross-cultural case studies.

of AN101, DI100 or SY100*.
