The Bookstore Manager Bookstore: Shelley Worden, BA, Ext. 3107 Location: Concourse, Central Teaching Building Hours: Regular hours are from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the year, with the exception of Fridays when the store closes at 4:30 p.m. The store is also open evenings in the first weeks of classes in September and January, as posted. The Bookstore is one of several ancillary services provided for students, faculty and staff. It is operated in such a way as to pay for all reasonable costs out of income generated, and endeavours to generate a small net surplus. Seventy percent of its business is in the sale of books: texts, course packages and general and reference books. The bookstore also carries a wide range of paper, writing instruments, and computer and electronic supplies, as well as greeting cards, magazines, some software, confectionary items, a special order service for books and a photo finishing service. Savings can be enjoyed through special sales held throughout the year, the Laurier Book Club and the monthly used book buyback. The Bookstore organizes a Meet the Author series each year to promote the reading of and interest in books. The Bookstore has a staff who are qualified to provide a worthwhile service in an academic environment and an advisory committee of faculty and students.
