Residence Housing Director of Housing and Parking Services: John Thompson, BSc, MBA, Ext. 3188 Office Location: Ground Floor, Macdonald House Residence facilities are provided in eight main residence buildings which house approximately 1,200 single men and women. Of this number, 300 students are housed in the 10-story co-ed apartment-style Bricker Residence. The first floor has facilities for students with special needs. Five floors are for senior, graduate and seminary students, with the remaining five floors reserved for first year students. Each furnished unit has four single bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a kitchen, living and dining rooms. Common facilities include: television lounge, games room, computer room and study room. W.D. Euler and Ulrich Leupold co-ed residences allow 70 first year students to choose a Quiet Floor Option'. Students are housed in double occupancy rooms under stricter noise regulations. The remaining five dormitory-styled buildings provide mainly double room occupancy, as well as common area facilities such as recreation rooms, lounges, kitchenettes, washrooms, laundry rooms, computer rooms, etc. The bed-study rooms assigned to students are fully furnished, and supplied with linens and towels. Students are responsible for the care and maintenance of their rooms. The residences are goveuned by a residence council and by the residence staff of Head Residents and "Dons" (i.e. Residence Assistants). Students in residence are provided with a Student Handbook, a Residence Handbook and a Residence Halls Agreement which outline the rules and regulations of residence. Smoking is permitted in rooms only by mutual consent of roommates and in designated smoking areas in each building. All students living in residence are provided with a mail box and daily mail delivery five days per week. A University meal plan is required for all residence students (except Bricker). This flexible "declining balance" type of meal plan is available for use in the Dining Hall and the Food Court, as well as some other on-campus and off-campus food facilities. Since Bricker offers each student kitchen facilities, a meal plan is not mandatory. (Students may choose to purchase a smaller meal plan if desired. See Food Services Facilities.) The majority of bed spaces in residence are reserved for first year students. A limited number of graduate, senior, seminary, and exchange students are housed in Bricker Residence. Clara Conrad Hall accommodates 244 single women in single and double rooms (15 student staff members). Nils Willison Hall accommodates 163 single men in double rooms (seven student staff members). Bouckaert Hall accommodates 142 single women in double rooms (six student staff members). C.H. Little House accommodates 160 single men in double rooms (10 student staff members). Macdonald House - A co-ed building, accommodates 95 students (Five student staff members). Single women in double rooms on two floors and single men in double rooms on two floors. W.D. Euler Residence, (Quiet-floor Option), a co-ed building, accommodates 34 students in double rooms (three student staff members). Single women on one floor, and single men on another . Ulrich Leupold Residence, (Quiet-floor Option), a co-ed building accommodates 36 single students in double rooms (two student staff members, one of whom is French-speaking). Students wishing to practice their spoken French are encouraged to apply to live in the "Maison Franaise" section of this Residence. Bricker Residence, accommodates 300 single men and women in apartment-style, self contained units (nine student staff members). Married Student Apartments - Twelve one-bedroom unfurnished apartments are available for childless married full-time students, in a 12-unit apartment building on the edge of the campus. A stove and refrigerator is supplied in each unit.
