Many opportunities are offered at WLU for extra-curricular
activities which contribute to student growth and experience.

The Faculty of Music (ext. 2432) has several choirs, a
Symphony Orchestra; Wind, Baroque and Jazz Ensembles; and numerous
chamber ensembles. They perform regularly in public concerts which
are free to Laurier students. Students in other faculties are
welcome to audition for an ensemble. These September auditions are
arranged during the preceding August.

Student publications, service programs, clubs, and societies
give students an opportunity to be involved in events of social,
cultural, and political interest. Information is available from WLU
Students' Union (884-1360).

Laurier Lectures is a free series featuring high profile
speakers. These and other cultural events are advertised in the
Cultural Affairs Office display case in the Concourse.

The Robert Langen Gallery, ground floor of the Aird Building,
features a series of exhibits including the WLU Permanent
Collection, the annual faculty, staff, and student exhibit, and
selected artists. The Woldemar Neufeld Collection, housed by the
university in partnership with the City of Waterloo for a
three-year period, will be displayed. The gallery is operated by
the Curator and student gallery attendants.

The Senate Cultural Affairs Committee is a sponsor of
on-campus cultural events. Information about funding criteria and
application procedures is available from the Cultural Affairs
Co-ordinator.
