An examination of work by contemporary philosophers on problems of normative ethics. Moral issues associated with some or all of the following topics will be discussed: euthanasia, animal rights, sexuality, pornography and censorship, abortion, capital punishment, criminal justice and the environment. A variety of approaches (e.g., liberal, communitarian, utilitarian, feminist) will be considered.† |
