EC217 Historical Development of the Modern Canadian Economy 0.5

This course examines Canada's development as a dependent, resource economy in the context of British and United States economies from the 1840's into the post 1970 period. Some of the topics discussed include capital formation, exports of natural resources and agricultural products, tariffs, transport systems, regional disparities, and labour mobility.

Prerequisite: EC120 (or EC101), EC140 (or EC102).
Exclusion: EC317.
