| FR438 The Mystery Novel 0.5 |

This course is a study of the French "Polar" from its beginning to modern day, including analysis of narrative structures of the different genres: the classic puzzle, the thriller, the "roman noir", the "neo-polar" and the suspense novel. |
| Prerequisite: One of FR120, FR121, FR231, FR240; or permission of the Department. |
| Exclusion: FR409 |
