Career Services provides assistance to all students and alumni in their career planning and job search. There are three primary services offered by the department: career advising, career information and employment services for part-time, summer, contract, and permanent job openings.

Career advising services are provided on an individual and group basis to involve students in examining their interests, abilities, values, goals, and opportunities as part of the career decision-making process. A Career Information Centre is available to students seeking information on topics such as educational programs, work/study/travel abroad, careers, graduate admission tests, job search techniques, and potential employers.

A Graduate Employment Program is available to all students completing their final year of a degree or diploma program and to alumni who are currently registered as students at Laurier. Through this program, employers interview students during the Fall and Winter semesters for permanent employment available upon graduation. In addition, graduates may register with the Alumni Referral Service. A Summer and Part-time Employment Service is also offered, and a Career Fair and a Job Fair are also held annually.

Throughout the year, the department sponsors several programs to familiarize students with a variety of occupations. These include events such as Careers Expo, Teacher Education Sessions, and a Careers in... series. A newsletter, For Your Information, containing information related to educational, career, and employment opportunities, is published and distributed to students, staff, and faculty. Workshops on résumé writing, job interview preparation, career planning, and job search are also offered for interested students.
