Honours Business Administration Program Requirements

Year 1	BU111 BU121	EC120 EC140 MA130 or both MA101 and MA102	2.5 non-Business elective credits or equivalent. Students who select both MA101 and MA102 require 2.0 elective credits.	Students without an OAC credit in English or equivalent from another educational institution must take EN118 and EN130 as non-Business electives in the First Year. First Year students must complete all academic requirements for progression into Second Year prior to April 30 of their current academic year within 10 course attempts. Students failing to meet progression requirements may re-apply for admission into the program, but must recognize that re-admission is considered on a competitive basis ( i.e. minimum progression requirements will not guarantee students a place). MA141 will not count for credit towards the Honours Business Degree.
Year 2	BU211 BU227 BU231 BU247	EC255 EC275 EC250 or EC260	1.5 non-Business elective credits.	If both EC250 and EC260 are taken, one may be used as a non-Business elective. The required Business and Economics courses in Second Year are an integrated set which must be taken concurrently.
Year 3	BU352 BU362 BU383 BU393 BU385 BU395 BU388 BU398	None	1.0 Non-Business elective credit; 1.0 Business or Non-Business elective credit; 2.5 Business elective credits to be taken during Third and Fourth Years of the program.	The required Business courses in Third Year are an Integrated set which must be taken concurrently.

Notes:

Students should familiarize themselves with the Registration and Academic Regulations of Wilfrid Laurier University. Both the University regulations and the school/department regulations must be adhered to.
Upon completion of the Second Year in the BBA program, a student in good standing in the program may take up to a maximum of one additional Business or non-Business elective credit. The additional elective may be taken in Third Year and/or Fourth Year of the program and does not require the approval of the BBA Director. The additional elective will count in the GPA, unless the student has declared the elective an 'extra' course, and is subject to any restrictions currently in the Undergraduate Calendar.
A student wishing to take seven courses in a term requires a GPA of 9.00 and approval of the BBA Director.
A maximum of one credit in Kinesiology and Physical Education and one and a half credits from Communication Studies and/or FS204, FS205 is allowed in the BBA program.
A student's program that seeks to depart from normal course content or sequence requires approval, in advance, from the BBA Director.
No more than three irregular course credits may be counted towards an Honours Business degree. An irregular course is defined as a course offered under a seminar heading and also a topic offered under the BU480 course. Students will only be allowed to take one BU480 course, and approval of the respective Area Co-ordinator and the BBA Director is required.
