Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) - Admission Policy
Admission from Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) programs is normally based on the following:
- Applicants who have achieved a cumulative average of B- or better or have a B- average or better in the last two semesters in a three-year CAAT program are considered for admission with advanced standing to a maximum of five full-credit courses (equivalent to one year). Advanced standing is based primarily upon:
- appropriateness of the CAAT program;
- course concentration;
- achievement in relevant courses.
- Applicants who have achieved a cumulative average of B- or better or who have a B- average or better in the last two semesters of a two year program are considered for admission to the First Year of an appropriate program. Advanced standing may be considered to a maximum of two full-credit courses.
- Applicants who have completed two years of a three year program and achieved a cumulative average of B- or better or who have a B- average or better in the last two semesters are considered for admission to First Year of an appropriate program. Advanced standing may be considered to a maximum of two full-credit courses.
- Applicants who have completed the First Year of a CAAT program with a cumulative average of A- or better and who are recommended for university studies by the college counsellors for admission to First Year of an appropriate university program.
CAAT students who do not meet these requirements will be considered on an individual basis by the Admissions Committee.
