AR347 Archaeology of Syria and Jordan 0.5

An examination of the development of urbanism and the high cultural achievements of ancient Syria and Jordan. Beginning with the earliest Neolithic villages, the focus will be on the relationship to the adjoining regions, especially to Mesopotamia and Palestine, and the shared cultural achievements in the realms of religious architecture and iconography, public buildings, fortifications and the organization of domestic space. Prerequisite: AR100* (or permission of Department).
Exclusion: AR204, AR302*/RE302*.
