Award Description

The KPMG Award in Entrepreneurship

Awarded annually by KPMG Chartered Accountants and KPMG Consultants. Eligible candidates are Second, Third or Fourth Year students at Wilfrid Laurier University with good academic standing who have undertaken an entrepreneurial project on their own or with other students. Each candidate will be required to submit an application for the award in the form of a proposal, which should include a detailed description of the business and product, budgets and financial projections, and a marketing strategy, which was either recently undertaken or will be implemented in the near future.

The proposal can be in any form of media and creativity is encouraged. The winning candidate will be selected by the School of Business and Economics, based on the originality of the project and the proposal and the potential for the project to continue successfully into the future. More than one award may be presented in a year. The award will be presented by one of KPMG's Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge or Guelph clients who has won a local, provincial or national award for entrepreneurship thereby encouraging by example the entrepreneurial spirit among the University's student body.
