BU403 Small Business Finance 0.5

The primary objective of this course is to introduce students to the sources of financing for businesses in their start-up and growth stages and the special issues associated with the financial management of small and medium size enterprises (SMEs). The course covers the supply of bank credit to SMEs, government initiatives set up to support small businesses, small business credit preparation and special issues of family firms. Financing of growth including leasing, franchise financing, venture capital and initial public offering (IPO) will also be covered.

Prerequisite: BU383 and BU393.
