Course Description

CT210* Indigenous Peoples in Contemporary Societies 1.0

The course examines the survival of indigenous peoples in the contemporary world. The impact of European colonization on indigenous peoples and contemporary relationships between indigenous peoples and modern states will be addressed using case studies from around the world. Indigenous cultures in a post-colonial world will be explored, with a focus on contemporary Native American art, music and literature.

Prerequisite or co-requisite: CT100* or CT110*.
