FI250* Nineteenth Century European Art 1.0

A comprehensive and integrated study of painting, sculpture, architecture and photography produced in nineteenth century Europe. Political, social and cultural transformations are examined as they affect the origins of modern art. Topics include Neo-Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, as well as the roles of art academies, the avant-garde and women artists.

Prerequisite: FI100*.
