GM340 Representations of the Holocaust 0.5

This course examines some of the major works of art and literature that focus on the treatment of Jews during the Third Reich. Themes studied will include the problem of the aestheticization of inhuman atrocities, survivor guilt, the persecution of identity and the role of art in mourning. (Note: This course is taught in English, and students registered in Honours or General German are required to attend a weekly tutorial held in German.)

Prerequisite: Registration status: senior student, or permission of the Department.
