Laurier is a member of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and competes in 19 sports. Both men's and women's Golden Hawk teams have had a strong competitive tradition at the provincial and national levels.

Laurier's recently renovated recreational and personal fitness facilities are among the best in Canada. Our Athletic Complex includes an Olympic-length swimming pool which houses the National Swim Centre for Ontario, two squash courts, a triple gymnasium with seating for 2,500 spectators, a modern Fitness Centre, new circuit training room and dance studio, a dedicated free weight strength training centre and two outdoor tennis courts. Laurier also operates University Stadium, one of the best artificial turf fields in North America. The intramural sports program includes competitive, instructional and co-educational activities. This facility includes a lighted, artificial surface athletic field, which is home to the Golden Hawks for football, soccer and lacrosse. The Stadium seats 5,500 and has a six-lane, 400-metre track and a gymnasium. All facilities are available for booking by the Laurier community and the general public.
