Many opportunities are offered at Laurier for extra-curricular activities which contribute to student growth and experience. The Cultural Affairs Office at Laurier promotes and presents cultural events that are an enjoyable and valuable resource for learning.

The Faculty of Music has several choirs, a Symphony Orchestra; Wind, Baroque and Jazz ensembles; and numerous chamber ensembles. They perform regularly in public concerts, many of which are free to Laurier students.

The Robert Langen Gallery is located on the ground floor of the John Aird Centre. Exhibitions are featured throughout the academic year with work by regional artists, Laurier faculty, staff and students. The University's Permanent Art Collection, including work by Woldemar Neufeld, can be seen across the Laurier campus and is occasionally exhibited in the local community. The collection comprises a growing number of works in a variety of media by contemporary Canadian artists.

Laurier Lectures is a series that brings distinguished high-profile individuals in various areas of study to campus to speak or perform. These guest lectures are intended to supplement the students learning process through interesting dialogue and discussion, creative interaction and hands-on experience. Students, staff, faculty and members of the general public are encouraged to attend these free lectures.

Theatre productions by the University Players are a highlight of cultural life at Laurier. Performances feature students, staff and faculty.

The Senate Cultural Affairs Committee is a sponsor of on campus cultural events. Information about funding criteria and application procedures is available from the Cultural Affairs Co-ordinator.
