Honours BA Sociology

The program consists of 20 full-credit courses (or equivalent), of which not more than six may be at the 100 level. The program must include a minimum of 11 credits (two at the 400 level) and may include a maximum of 13 credits in Sociology. The program must also include AN101 and one additional half-credit in Anthropology.

First Year
SY100*, AN101
Three and a half elective credits

Second Year
SY203*, GraphicsSY204*, SY280, SY281
Two credits including at least one-half in Sociology and at least one elective credit approved by the Department.

Third Year
SY382; either SY387 or SY388
Four credits including at least two and a half in Sociology and at least one elective credit approved by the Department.
(Except where otherwise stated, all students taking 300 level courses are required to have the prerequisite of one of SY203*, SY280, SY281 or permission of the Department.)

Fourth Year
Two credits in Sociology at the 400 level.
Three credits including at least one in Sociology and at least one elective credit approved by the Department.
(Except where otherwise stated, all students taking 400 level courses are required to have the prerequisite of either SY387 or SY388 or permission of the Department.)
