A comparative analysis of urbanization processes and the socioeconomic characteristics of contemporary cities as they occur under different environmental, social and political conditions.

US202 Issues in Canadian Urban Development 0.5

An introduction to urban planning issues in Canadian cities. Specific issues examined include land succession changes, public service locations, urban renewal, gentrification, sprawl tendencies and conflict planning issues.

US301 Comparative Canadian Urbanism 0.5

A detailed comparative analysis of Canada's major metropolitan regions in terms of the internal variation associated with their socioeconomic and ethnic natures.

Prerequisite: US201 or US202.
