Undergraduate Admissions

Admission Requirements

Applicants who do not possess the necessary minimum OSSD/OAC requirements for admission to the university and have not completed any post-secondary education are normally considered for admission as a part-time student if they meet either of the following conditions:

  1. upon completion of OSSD, Ontario Grade 12 or equivalent standing and at least two years of work experience prior to the first day of classes for the session to which they apply; or
  2. age 21 and at least two years of work experience prior to the first day of classes for the session to which they apply.

Applicants are encouraged and in some cases may be required to submit a personal assessment letter outlining the following:

  1. why they feel they may be successful at University,
  2. current career aspirations; and
  3. work experience since the most recent attendance at a school.

Applicants are encouraged to describe any employment experiences, leisure activities or volunteer work/community service that demonstrate good citizenship and leadership qualities.

The University will admit only those applicants who, in the opinion of the Admissions Committee, are adequately prepared on the basis of previous academic training and/or life-skill experience to undertake university courses. Adult students are urged to avail themselves of the University's services (academic counselling, study-skills counselling, personal counselling and career counselling).
