Deferred Examinations

A deferred examination is one granted by the Petitions Committee of the faculty concerned, for a student who was compelled to miss a final examination because of documented extenuating circumstances. A fee will be charged per examination and is not refundable.

Term work must be included in the determination of the final grade.

At the discretion of the instructor and the department chair, a student who has been granted a deferred examination by the Faculty Petitions Committee may be permitted to write the final examination prior to the scheduled time. This approval is subject to scheduling and the signing of a confidentiality statement.
