Course Description

EN353* Literature of the 16th Century 1.0

A study of a variety of literary genres and discourses of 16th-century England and of the interconnections between Humanism, the Protestant Reformation and cultural production. Attention may also be paid to the relation between literature, the visual arts, architecture and music; and to how literary and other art forms contributed to early modern constructions of the body, subjectivity and sexuality.
