This course analyses the intensifying economic and strategic struggle among the Great Powers which led to the two World Wars and the Cold War. It will focus on the stages by which the European system became absorbed into a global system, the revolutionary challenges to the status quo and the responses to them. (Cross-listed as GS349.) {E}
