Honours BA Geography and Geomatics

The Honours BA Geography and Geomatics program consists of 20.0 credits (or equivalent), of which 11.0 credits must be in Geography and a minimum of 7.5 must be non-geography credits. Not more than 6.0 credits (or equivalent) may be at the 100 level. The program must include a minimum of a 0.5 credit in Curriculum Division A.

Notes:

  1. Students are advised to take one or more of CP213, CP225, CP264, CP411 as their non-geography elective credits. Ensure that the necessary prerequisites have been completed for the senior computing courses.
  2. Upgrading to the Honours BA Geography and Geomatics degree: Total credit requirements vary depending on the entry level of the candidate.
    1. From an Honours BA or BSc in Geography or BA in Environmental Studies: As part of the minimum of 5.0 credits required in the Sequential Degrees section of the University Regulations chapter, students must complete a minimum of 5 additional term courses (2.5 credits) from the Geomatics stream and computing courses in order to upgrade to the Honours BA Geography and Geomatics degree.
    2. From a General BA or BSc in Geography: In conjunction with the minimum of 5.0 credits required in the Honours Degrees: Post-General section of the University Regulations chapter, students must complete a minimum total of 10 term courses (5.0 credits) from the Geomatics stream, as well as CP104 and CP114, in order to upgrade to the Honours BA Geography and Geomatics degree

  3. For admission to Year 2, a GP of 6.0 is required in each of GG100* and GL100*/ES100*, and a cumulative GPA of 4.00 in all other subjects. A GP of 6.0 must be achieved in the two required (listed) CP courses regardless of the year in which they are taken. For progression to Year 3 and Year 4 and to graduate, a cumulative GPA of 7.00 is required in all Geography courses and a cumulative GPA of 5.00 in all other subjects.
