Performance

This program is designed for students who intend to become professional performers and teachers of performance. Students who demonstrate at audition time or during their first or second year, that they have the potential to succeed as performers may apply to enter this program. Students in first year receive one-hour weekly lessons, while those in second, third and fourth years receive one and one-half hours of private instruction per week. If exceptional performance abilities are demonstrated at the time of audition, students may, at the recommendation of the audition panel and with permission of the dean, be offered one and one-half hour lessons in the first year. All performance majors are required, during second and third year, to take part regularly in recitals, and during fourth year to give a full-length formal solo recital.
