In September 1999, Wilfrid Laurier University opened a Brantford campus. It offers a core curriculum in Contemporary Studies and a concurrent BA/BEd program which it offers in partnership with the Faculty of Education at Nipissing University (students that graduate from the BA/BEd program are certified to teach in Ontario). Laurier Brantford offers a range of other majors, minors and options which include the Children's Education and Development Option; the major in Communication Studies, English, Philosophy, Psychology, Religion and Culture; and the minor in Anthropology, Geography, History, Indigenous Studies and Sociology. Students who study at the Brantford Campus can combine their studies for their BA with a variety of professional and occupational programs available at Mohawk College (among them, Graphic Design, Police Foundations and International Business).
