The Honours Religion and Culture program consists of 20.0 credits (or equivalent), of which at most 6.0 credits may be at the 100 level and a minimum of a 0.5 credit must be from Curriculum Division B in the general degree program. A minimum of 10.0, but no more than 15.0, of the 20.0 credits must be in Religion and Culture courses, including RE300, RE400, courses from Group I (Religious Traditions of the World), Group II (Thematic and Comparative) and Group III (Approaches to the Study of Religion and Research Tools) below, together with at least 1.0 additional 400 level credit (which may also be used to satisfy the Group I or Group III requirement).

Group I: A minimum of a 0.5 credit must be taken from three of the following six categories:
African Religions: RE285
Ancient Near-Eastern and Mediterranean Religions: RE200, RE205/AR205, RE206/AR206, RE207, RE262, RE308/HI308, RE309/HI309, RE421/AR421, RE444
Christianity: RE201, RE215, RE216, RE301, RE335, RE356, RE432
Judaism, Islam and Bahá'í: RE213, RE214, RE227, RE304
Asian Religions: RE246, RE250, RE251, RE298, RE321/GS321, RE424
Indigenous Religions: RE211, RE318

Group II: A minimum of 1.0 credit must be taken from:

Group III: A minimum of a 0.5 credit must be taken from:

Note: It is strongly recommended that at least 1.0 university-level credit in a foreign language be taken. Students, in consultation with faculty advisors, may construct specialized programs within Religion and Culture to meet a variety of needs such as preparation for graduate study, seminary or teaching.
