Honours Economics with a Major or Minor in Another Field

Students in Honours Economics programs may choose to organize their elective courses in such a way as to meet the requirements for a major, minor or option in a subject other than Economics. Additional courses may be necessary to fulfill these requirements, as well as those of the honours program. The following regulations will apply:

  1. All common and program requirements for the major, minor or option must be fulfilled. (Refer to the Faculty of Arts and/or Faculty of Science chapters.) Curriculum Division A, B and C requirements need not be fulfilled. Progression in the general-level major is governed by the regulations that determine progression in general degree programs.
  2. The student must achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 5.00 on all courses of the major, or 4.50 on all courses of the minor subject. This regulation does not apply when a greater minimum GPA is required for the secondary program chosen.
  3. 1.0 credit (or equivalent) taken on a Letter of Permission basis, may be counted towards the minor requirement.
  4. An honours student may receive designation for only one general major and/or option (other than the Co-operative Education Option).
