Course Description

EC285 Introductory Statistics 0.5

An introduction to the major concepts and techniques of probability and statistics with emphasis on economic applications. Topics include probability, distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, chi-square and non-parametric statistics. Regression is also introduced.

Prerequisite: MA130 or MA103, or permission of the department.
Co-requisite: Year 2 of an Honours Economics program or permission of the department.
Exclusion: BU/EC205 or EC255 or BU255 or EC235 or MA141 or MA240.
