This course presents literary and artistic expressions of Jewish intellectual and popular culture in Berlin, Vienna and Prague from 1900 to 1938, Jewish self-expressions in mourning of the Holocaust, current debates about the German memory of the Holocaust and the most recent developments concerning Jewish life and culture in today's German-speaking world. (Note: this course is taught in English, and students registered in Honours or General German are required to attend a weekly tutorial held in German) |
