LL201 Cultural Perspectives II 0.5

This course examines the artistic, literary and intellectual culture of western and central Europe after 1880. Particular attention will be paid to developing the ability to analyse and compare representations of the cultural life of the French, German, Italian and Spanish people. The course is divided in three sections: Fin-de-siècle; Between the World Wars; Contemporary Culture. Each section has three units, which treat the topic of that particular section from a French, German, Italian and Spanish perspective. Instead of being a survey of European cultural history, this course focuses on specific events, topics or people that have enriched the heritage of the western world.
