Laurier's OneCard is a photo identification and library card to be used at both the main campus and Brantford campus. It is also a physical activities card and a meal debit card, to be used at the main campus only. Resident students (with the exception of Bricker Residence, Laurier Place Residence, University Place Residence, Regina Street Residence and all non-traditional style residences) are required to have a meal plan. The residence meal plan is divided into two parts: Primary Dollars (dollars used by resident students with a required meal plan) and Alternative Dollars (dollars used by both required and optional meal plan holders). Primary dollars are accepted only at the Dining Hall. The Dining Hall will automatically withdraw dollars remaining in the primary account first, and then withdraw from the alternative account.

Alternative dollars may be used at the following locations: Harvey's (Terrace), Mr. Sub (Terrace), Yogen Früz (Terrace), Pizza Pizza (Terrace), Union Market (Terrace), Tim Horton's Concourse Café, Pita Shack, Wilf's, Angie's Kitchen, Pizza Pizza (delivery), Swiss Chalet (delivery), Farah Foods, MacDonell Village, Quick Sandwiches, Rude Native Bistro, vending machines, King Street Residence Cafe, Waterloo College Hall Cafe, Zoe's Library Cafe and Athletics Kiosk.

Students can also add money to the convenience account (there are no tax savings in this account). This account can be used at any of the designated food locations mentioned above plus at the Waterloo Taxi, University Pharmacy, Centre Spot, Bookstore, CCS Laser Printing, The Hub, Beach Bunnies Tanning Studio, Residence laundry services, Sugar Mountain, Medical Services and the new OneMall <http://www.onemall.ca>.

Students living off-campus can purchase an optional meal plan from the OneCard office. Tax savings may apply as follows: with deposits of $500.00 or more, students will receive a 15 percent tax savings (GST and PST exempt) on food purchases at all Laurier operated food locations; with deposits of $120.00-$499.00, students will receive an 8 percent tax savings (PST exempt) on food purchases at all WLU operated food locations. Tax exemptions apply for a student's entire registration at Laurier, regardless of the balance on the account. For example, students that have made a one-time deposit of $500.00 or more on their meal plan account will receive the 15 percent savings on food for the duration of their time at Laurier.

Meal plans can be purchased and additional money added throughout the term at the OneCard office. When purchasing food, the amount is deducted from the balance and the new account balance is available upon request. The balance is automatically carried forward to the next term. Students with optional meal plans and convenience accounts with a remaining balance at the end of their stay at Laurier can apply for a refund at the OneCard office. Required meal plans are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If a OneCard is stolen or lost, it is protected once it has been reported in person at the OneCard office. OneCards lost or stolen outside of office hours can be de-activated at any food service location on campus, or it can be de-activated on the OneCard Web site, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Replacement cards are issued for a $20.00 fee.
